Don't Give Me That Face...

I'm sorry.

I know I've neglected this blog but there's no reason to give me that face. I didn't mean it. I promise to do better. Just don't look at me like that. I can't take it.

I'm baaaaaack!

Impromptu Cupcakes

After an afternoon of meetings in Bham yesterday, I decided to spend the rest of the afternoon reading my overpriced stack of magazines I'd been neglecting and devouring whatever was left in my pantry (Nutella and... graham crackers?? Sure, why not). My niece had other ideas. When she found out that I was home early, she caught the first train to my place and promptly put me to work. Not to be outdone, I decided to put her to work while I snapped photos on my phone and licked the bowls clean. Mission: Funfetti Cupcakes.

 Crack those eggs, girl!

What did you think? We were baking these puppies from scratch? Wrong. Arissa adds the mix.

Gotta have eggs. I removed the accidental shards of shells. No shells!

She took her time mixing it all up.

 Carefully crafted.

Killing time while we wait on our masterpieces to bake.

 Frosting!

They aren't cupcakes until you add the sprinkles!

Finished product. Two happy girls.

Just Because.

While digging through photos on my computer, I found this GEM of a clip from last winter. My 2 year old niece had just gotten a fabulous new pink hummer and she took it on a road trip to my parents' house to show it off. Mind you, when I was 16 I was regifted given my parents '89 Blazer - a vehicle SO special that when I turned on the signal, the windshield wipers would come on. Needless to say I was a bit jealous of the hot pink stunner! But when I observed Arissa's driving skills (or lack thereof) as she spun her cousin McKenna around the yard during a test drive, I couldn't be mad/jealous for long. Notice my uncontrollable cackle at the end of the clip.

Is this supposed to hurt?

Sooooooo....

I bought a Wii *just* so I could buy/play the Michael Jackson: The Experience video game. Power bill, smouwer bill. And I cannot WAIT to tell you all my (mis)adventures.

After 2 1/2 mintues of dancing to "They Don't Really Care About Us" (mind you, the song is actually 4 1/2 minutes long), I was sweating like crazy, panting like a rabid dog, and cramping in places I'd be embarrassed to tell my gyno. No worries though, I sweated and danced and panted and cramped for another 3 hours to the entire MJ playlist.

And did I tell you the game came with A SEQUINED GLOVE!?! WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO DO TO ME???

I may never leave the house again.

More to come.
